Heritage Homes lots in Sumner, Washington – “Dirty and Littered”
A 9/24/08 declaration by Timberland Bank in the Heritage Homes’ bankruptcy revealed the state of the unfinished lots at 3014 1461H Ave. Ct. E, Sumner, WA 98390. Prior to the bankruptcy, the bank had extended a builder construction loan to Heritage Homes.
The declaration stated that:
“On August 27, 2008 I visited the subject properties and found that two of the houses had been completed and five of the houses remained unfinished. The sliding glass door of each unfinished house was unlocked providing ready access to each interior. The houses are generally dirty and littered with construction debris. Weeds had been allowed to grow unchecked around the unfinished houses making them appear abandoned and poor candidates for sale. I was concerned that the houses were unsecured and it appeared that no progress was being made to complete and prepare the homes for sale. Prolonging the period during which these houses are allowed to sit in an unfinished state will serve no purpose other than to increase the likelihood of vandalism and increase the cost to resolve the debt owing on each house.”
